With the integration in Natural Environment and Climate Change Agency (NECCA) of the Management Body of Samaria National Park , the Management Unit of Samaria National Park and the Protected Areas of Western Crete operates under N.E.C.C.A.’s Protected Areas Management Directorate (Sector B), based in Chania.

For the entrance to the National Woodland Park of Samaria, which is the core zone of the protected area, a ticket valuation is mandatory.
The ticket constitutes revenue of N.E.C.C.A., as well as of the adjacent Municipalities (Gov’t Ministerial Decision).
By this payment the protection and conservation of the National Woodland Park of Samaria, or other Protected Areas and its valuable ecosystems is significantly supported.
