Recognizing that climate change is complex and closely linked to other global challenges, such as food security, water scarcity, biodiversity depletion and environmental degradation, it becomes clear that using traditional approaches to innovation is not enough on its own to tackle the problem. The new Horizon 2020 project entitled “Climate resistant regions through systemic solutions and innovations – ARSINOE” commenced on October 1, 2021 and is funded by the European Commission with a total budget of 15 million euros, under the coordination of the University of Thessaly. The project brings together 41 partners from 15 countries and seeks to pave new paths to sustainability by providing regional innovation packages that create an ecosystem for the development and implementation of innovative climate change adaptation measures and solutions across Europe.
