N.E.C.C.A. has commissioned the task of mapping, data collection and processing for the creation of a network of signposted mountaineering-hiking routes and climbing fields, with initial implementation on the island of Kastelorizo.
The trails serve to facilitate recreation, mountain tourism and ecotourism, as well as connecting inaccessible areas in the countryside. Their use is intended for activities such as trekking, hiking, accessing natural environments or points of interest, and generally promoting human knowledge and contact with nature. The new routes will be proposed in such a way as to have the least possible impact on the biodiversity of the habitats and the flora and fauna of the island.
