The national State of the Environments Reports (SoER) have been prepared by the former National Center for Environment and Sustainable Development (NCESD), aiming to evaluate the environmental status of the country and undertake assessments of the objectives, directions and measures of the actual national environmental policy [paragraph 2 of Article 3, Presidential Decree 325/2000 (A ‘266) – NCESD establishment law].
SoER 2019
The update of SoER 2018 was based on the most recent available data compared to SoER 2018. The aim of the update is to provide an objective information database as well as contribute to the public dialogue on environmental policy directions and measures in the fields of climate change, air quality, noise, natural environmental protection, waste management, water resources management and horizontal environmental issues, thus providing to all interested stakeholders with an objective source of knowledge, and a view to a sustainable future. The 2019 Report has been published in 6 thematic sections concerning the above-mentioned fields. The Update of the SoER 2018 was drafted by the Project Team members P. Varelidis, E. Zikou, V. Kapsis, Al. Adamopoulos, P. Dimopoulos, Ag. Kalliontzis, G. Panagopoulou, Al. Pantelis and K. Korizi, under the NCESD Management Board presidency of Ms Zoe Vrontisi.
