It also includes the evaluation of new species, up to 17,000 species, according to the IUCN criteria and specifications and their classification into risk categories, with the active participation of the IUCN, the creation of a national Red List of Fungi, the addition of Greek endemic species to the IUCN database and the training and creation of a network of Greek experts in the application of IUCN criteria.

The Project consists of five (5) sub-projects.

Sub-Project 1: Compilation of Red Lists & Operational Support of the Project, which is divided further into six (6) Work Packages (W.P.):

– WP 2: Compilation of the Red List of Endangered Species of Terrestrial Animals of Greece (species assessments).

– WP 3: Compilation of the Red List of Endangered Species of Aquatic Animals of Greece (species assessments).

– WP 4: Administrative Support for the project.
