Sea Turtle Release Action: Rachel swims back to her natural environment

After 40 days of care at the ARCHELON Sea Turtle Rescue Center, a loggerhead turtle named Rachel was released back into the wild at the small bay Katafigi in the Saronic Gulf (November 11^th 2021). Rachel was found on Kefalonia island in late August with her front flippers entangled and injured in fishing line. The release was attended by N.E.C.C.A’s head of the 1^st Directorate for the Management of Protected Areas, Dr. Dionysia Hatzilakou, along with Archelon’s Center Manager, Mr. Dimitris Fytilis, other collaborators and volunteers.
